Today as I was scrubbing the kitchen garbage can with a nice hot soapy mixture of Pine-Sol and water, I thought, I can't frickin believe I'm scrubbing the kitchen garbage can right now with a nice hot soapy mixture of Pine-Sol and water.
What have I become?
Anyway...
I remember my mom scrubbing our baseboards and weird stuff in our house with Pine-Sol too.
After I did this, I scrubbed spaghetti sauce off of the radiator (aint never done that before). Yes, our old house has radiators. That is another conversation for another day.
Anyway, thinking about how I've never done such a thing like scrub spaghetti sauce off a radiator before got me to thinking....
Moms. Aren't they cool? I mean, I just spent all these years taking for granted all the crazy $*%# that my mom scraped off of random radiators my whole life and I never knew about it. My kids will come home today, skipping down the road, through our door, throw all their crap on the floor and continue on smearing all their childhood dirt all over the place none-the-wiser that I scraped up and cleaned up these messes this morning with a hot and soapy mixture of Pine-Sol just like my mom did years before me. And that's ok that they don't know.
But someday.......
When they are on hands and knees scraping ravioli off the lower portion of their kitchen walls thinking....aint never done that before.....may they stop and wonder as they dip their hands into that familiar smelling Pine-Sol mixture....Hey! I wonder just how many of these types of messes my mom cleaned up for me too.
Aren't moms just the best?
Mine is. I know this much. I'm reminded ALL the TIME thanks to my own motherhood. Just as I believe God intended it to be.

Aw, thanks, Mel!!! You have a very special way of making me laugh and cry at the same time. Happy cries, of course, now that I don't feel the need to scrub stuff with Pine-Sol like I used to. My kids have made all my mommy dreams come true.
